美國石油學會(hui)（American Petroleum Institute，API）創(chuang)建(jian)于1919年(nian)，是美國第一(yi)家(jia)國家(jia)級的商業(ye)協會(hui)。API的一(yi)項重要任務，就是負責石油和(he)天(tian)然氣工業(ye)用設備的標(biao)(biao)(biao)準(zhun)化(hua)工作，以確保該工業(ye)界所(suo)用設備的安全、可靠和(he)互換性。一(yi)般情況下，API標(biao)(biao)(biao)準(zhun)每5年(nian)至少進(jin)行一(yi)次(ci)復審(shen)、修(xiu)改、重新確認(ren)或撤銷。有時復審(shen)周期(qi)可延長一(yi)次(ci)，但延長不(bu)超過(guo)2年(nian)。所(suo)以，除已授權再(zai)版延期(qi)，API標(biao)(biao)(biao)準(zhun)自出版之日起(qi)，5年(nian)后不(bu)再(zai)有效。

  標(biao)(biao)準共分三大(da)類：①. 石油(you)設備設計及(ji)制(zhi)造(zao)規范；②. 石油(you)設備使(shi)用及(ji)維護推(tui)(tui)薦做(zuo)法；③. 鉆井(jing)及(ji)采油(you)作業推(tui)(tui)薦做(zuo)法。其管道標(biao)(biao)準有(you)：
